Shiatsu massage |
|
The
Shiatsu massage is a type of therapy born in Japan at the
beginning of the 20th century with roots in Taoism and
ancient Chinese medicine; it is based on the use of the
joints and finger pressure, the art of stimulating the skin
surface causing beneficial effects in the body. The
treatment aims at killing pain, muscle contractures and

Thai massage |
|
The Thai
massage is a curative massage carried out by the Buddhist
monks from Thailand. It combines finger pressure on points
identified by Chinese Medicine together with the assisted
stretching inspired in Indian Yoga with the aim of “opening”
the body both energetically and physically.
The final aim of the Traditional Thai Massage is, both for
the person that performs it and the one who receives it, to
reach a state of "lightness" and emotional and spiritual
elevation. Its origins get lost in mystery, but it may
derive from a combination between the Indian Ayurvedic
medicine with Yoga and the Traditional Chinese Medicine.
